  • Below is a breakdown of what to expect when having us come out to handle mold remediation in your home or business.

  • step 1

The first day on the job, we’ll set up containment and equipment to prevent any mold from moving to other parts of your home while we work. Then we’ll remove any unsalvageable materials, such as drywall, that is effected by the mold. Then we treat any porous material, such as wood joists and framing with an oxidation solution to suffocate and extract any mold growing from within. Any areas that foam up are reacting with the mold in the wood, and we’ll use a HEPA filtered vacuum to suck up the mold and dispose of it safely outside the home.

  • step 2

The second day may consist of more oxidation treatments depending on how severe the mold is, but more likely the next day will consist of drying the area out to prepare it for an anti-microbial encapsulation. This will both lock in any remaining dead spores, for allergy purposes, and prevent new mold from growing.

  • step 3

In most cases it can be a two or three day process, sometimes additional oxidation treatments can make it take an extra day or so. If the mold is in an attic and has spread to the insulation, then the first day may also include removing and disposing of the affected insulation and after the remediation is done we can re-install new insulation.

Being aware of mold

Mold can be anywhere that moisture is allowed to build up and go unnoticed. This is usually the case in basements and attics. Basements are high moisture areas, if a dehumidifier is not set up and properly maintained, mold is very likely to start growing. Attics can also have moisture build up if not properly ventilated.
We offer free in home visual inspections for mold, if you or someone you live with are experiencing unexplained allergies or if you see any black, white, or green spots in your home, give us a call today and schedule an inspection.
